Invitation of external scientists

The Foundation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris offers a financial support for external scientists (junior/senior professors) to be invited in its affiliated laboratories for a two-to-three month stay. Appointed scientists will also have the opportunity to visit and to work with members of external laboratories. Demands of less than two months or more than three months will not be considered for this program.

Submitted applications are reviewed on a regular basis.


Local expenses will be covered:
-  Accommodation fees: up to €72,60 per day (upon justification)
-  Daily charges: €17,80 per day.

Travel expenses
(1 return ticket) will be covered up to the rate of 2ndClass for a train ticket, or Economic Class for an airline ticket.

Application Process

Application must be submitted online by a member of a laboratory affiliated with the Foundation.

Applications has to include:
-  a CV and a list of publications,
-  a letter from the nominating laboratory member, mentioning all details of the intended scientific program of the visit,
-  an agreement signed by the director of the host laboratory.

The steering committee of the foundation will nominate the selected candidates

Research in Paris

The researchers who want to come in Paris for a shorter stay than offered by the FSMP's Invitations program can apply to Research in Paris , a program of the Institut Henri Poincaré (IHP), for maximum 6-week stays.

Le principe 

In the tradition of the programs Research In Pairs in Oberwolfbach and Research In Peace at the Mittag-Leffer Institute, the IHP welcomes small groups of 2 to 4 scientists who wish to develop or complete a project together. They receive logistical help and, if necessary, financial support.
