What the Foundation is...
The Foundation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris was created on december 20th, 2006. It is a foundation of scientific cooperation and received the seal of approval of Réseau Thématique de Recherche Avancée (Thematic network of advanced research), or RTRA, granted by the French government to scientific projects of outstanding merit. The Foundation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris is the only recognized network of excellence in France in mathematical sciences.
Organisation
The Foundation works with an operational team which small size (only eight people) is a garantee of reactivity.
It is organized with a steering comittee (composed of seven mathematicians including the three Foundation's directors).
It is managed by a board of founding members and partners as well as scientific experts from outside the Foundation.
It relies upon a scientific council of french and foreign highly qualified academics and industrialists.
It is governed according to status and bylaws.
Scientific structure
The Foundation brings together :
- The 7 laboratories of the Fédération de Recherche en Mathématiques de Paris Centre
