Lieb–Thirring inequalities (Rupert Frank)

Rupert Frank (Ludwig Maximilians Universität München), laureate of the FSMP Chair ofexcellence in 2024, will give in the frame of his chair a course entitled Lieb–Thirring inequalities.

The lectures will take place on Wednesdays of March-April 2025 from 9:30 to 12:45 at Institut Henri Poincaré (11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris 5e) :

  • March 5 in amphithéâtre Yvonne Choquet Bruhat (Perrin building)
  • March 12 in amphithéâtre Yvonne Choquet Bruhat Perrin building)
  • March 19 in room Pierre Grisvard (room 314, Borel building)
  • March 26 in room Pierre Grisvard (room 314, Borel building)
  • April 2 in room Pierre Grisvard (room 314, Borel building)
  • April 9 in room Pierre Grisvard (room 314, Borel building)
  • April 16 in room Pierre Grisvard (room 314, Borel building)

Abstract
Lieb–Thirring inequalities are bounds on the eigenvalues of Schrödinger operators. We will discuss several topics related to these inequalities at the intersection of functional analysis, microlocal analysis and spectral theory.
The course is targeted towards graduate students and post-docs with a sound knowledge of Sobolev space theory and Hilbert space theory. Some familiarity with Schrödinger operators is helpful, but not necessary.
